SATSA 41st Annual Conference 3-4 September 2010
I would like to extend a personal invitation for you to join us at the Fairmont Zimbali Resort, KwaZulu-Natal for the 41st SATSA National Annual Conference.

One of the great benefits of networking is sharing information, getting to know like minded people in the Industry, pooling all our ideas and thoughts and thereby achieving far more than working alone.

'Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.' - Henry Ford.

The theme this year is:  “Leveraging the Big Event – working on MY marketing advantage.”

The SATSA National Conference 2010 will follow hot on the heels of the Soccer World Cup and this will be an ideal time for the Industry to review the event. We shall be dealing with a wide variety of issues with regard to the World Cup and its aftermath. There will be panel discussions with topics such as:
What has the impact of the World Cup been? How did the World Cup impact on the big companies? How did the World Cup impact on the smaller companies? Did South Africa handle the event well? Did transport work out for the World Cup?

It will be to the Tourism Industry’s advantage to review the World Cup, what to expect thereafter, climb on the National Marketing ‘bandwagon’ so to speak and take advantage of the enormous exposure that South Africa has had as a result, which ties in with our theme of LEVERAGING THE BIG EVENT – WORKING ON MY MARKETING ADVANTAGE. To further expand on this theme, we have some wonderful speakers lined up to cover other topics such as:

  • Where are the most lucrative new markets according to latest research?
  • A focus on marketing with airlines from major markets
  • Marketing Africa
  • South Africa as a destination from the International perspective. Plus many other pertinent topics.

As well as the full Conference programme of Speakers, there will be opportunities for audience participation — we do want to hear your views — and a full social programme that includes:

  • An elegant Dinner, to be held on Friday night, 3rd September
  • A themed party on Saturday evening, 4th September
  • A Sunday morning round of golf, after breakfast (very competitive green fees and golf-cart hire)
  • An excellent and affordable conference and accommodation package! In the spirit of the financially strained times, we have worked hard with our partners and FAIRMONT Resort have come to the party – the conference delegate packages are very similar to last year and accommodation is at such a good rate you might want to bring your family for a long weekend!!

This is the ideal time to have a short break from the office and to participate meaningfully with your colleagues in your industry.  SATSA has always been, and will always be, about BUSINESS NETWORKING!

'No ONE can whistle a symphony. It takes an orchestra to play it.' - H.E. Luccock

There is a great opportunity to showcase your company, and get your name up in lights by offering assistance in the form of prizes, speaker gifts, pillow gifts, or services such as accommodation.  Please e-mail your offers as soon as possible to lins@satsa.co.za. All suitable offers of assistance will be duly acknowledged at the Conference. We already have some great sponsors lined up, although we still need more!  And your assistance in that regard is invaluable.   Not all our sponsorships are large – we need members to sponsor such things as tea and coffee breaks for example.   We need a sponsor for the dinner, and all sponsors will get excellent exposure throughout the conference.  Service providers to the tourism industry are particularly welcome to sponsor.

We are looking forward to making our Conference for 2010 a truly memorable event. Your attendance will be greatly appreciated and I look forward to the opportunity to spend some time with you there.

Yours sincerely,

Michael Tatalias
